Carpinteria finishes second, remains first in league

Carpinteria golf gave itselves some breathing room in the league standings by finishing second on Thursday, submitting a combined score of 467 for the day.

Carpinteria fell only to Santa Clara (465) by two strokes. With the win, the Warriors move  two points ahead of Villanova in the standings, with just two more league matches to go.

 Mak Vincent led the way for the Warriors, shooting an 89 for the day. Joey Biro was second with 93.

Carpinteria (19-5) takes a week break from league match-ups, but looks to face St. Bonaventure on Monday in a non-league match.
