Dons show improvement in loss to powerful Buena

Santa Barbara softball fell to Buena 18-2 on Friday in a 5-inning mercy rule game

Buena exploded offensively in the third and fifth innings, scoring seven runs in each.

Angela Biancone scored the first run after three hit batters and two walks in the first inning to take the lead 1-0.

Madison Dochterman drove in Sheila Lopez in the third inning for their second and last run.

Coach Alex Sheldon remains confident in his team and looks to continue to get better.

“I thought we improved this week playing Buena. The score and results may not show it, but we continue to play better defense and have better at-bats at the plate.”

“I’m really proud of my girls’ continued effort and great attitude and I’m confident that will pay dividends throughout the rest of this season and beyond.”
