Bishop Diego topped by Villanova, 3-1

Bishop Diego baseball coach Dan Yokubaitis said his team is looking forward to spring break after suffering a tough 3-1 loss on Thursday to Villanova in a Frontier League game.

Villanova got off to a quick start, scoring all three of its runs in the first inning.

Bishop Diego answered back in the sixth, with a double by Scott Mandrell, followed by a single from Jack Gregson. Cody Yokubaitis hit a single to first base to bring in Mandrell for the Cardinals only run.

Yokubaitis also pitched a complete game for Bishop Diego, allowing three runs and nine hits while striking out five. Yokubaitis dropped to 4-2 with the loss.

Bishop Diego moved to 5-3 in league and 9-5 overall.
