Kristen Berlo tossed a one-hitter and Hannah Bell had three hits to lead San Marcos to a 3-0 Channel League softball win over Santa Barbara on Tuesday.
Ball smashed a double off the bottom of the left-field fence in the third inning to score Berlo, who drew a two-out walk.
The Royals added two runs in the fifth. Emily Dietz singled, Jocelyn Flattery walked and they advanced a base on a sacrfice bunt by Stephanie Swann. Dietz scored on a sacrifice fly by Berlo and Flattery came home on Ball’s single.
Ball went 3-for-4, while Berlo struck out 12 Dons.
San Marcos improves to 7-7 and 3-4 in league. Santa Barbara is 6-13, 0-7.
