DP swimmers break another relay record

The Dos Pueblos girls 200 freestyle relay team broke a Mt. SAC Meet of Champions Tournament record on Saturday, with a time of 1:39.21, and the Chargers took second in the team competition.

It was the second record Dos Pueblos has set in the meet. Last year the girls 400 freestyle relay team set a record that still stands today.

The 200 medley relay — Kiley Neushul (backstroke), Maelyn Adornetto (breaststroke), Janelle Nguyen (butterfly) and Emily Rose Williams (freestyle) — went for their best time of the season at 1:50.25, which helped to secure the Chargers’ second-place position behind Edison.

Neushul had two CIF automatic qualification times, winning the 100 backstroke (58.23) and placing third in the 200 freestyle (1:54.38) and

Williams took first in the 50 freestyle with a CIF consideration time of 24.47.

Nguyen finished third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.38 and second in the 500 freestyle with an automatic CIF qualification time of 5:04.7

Dos Pueblos heads to the Klaus Barth Rock n’ Roll Invitational on Wednesday (prelims) and Friday (finals).
