Carpinteria senior forward Ismael Soriano, one of the leading goal scorers in the CIF, was named the Offensive MVP for the Tri-Valley League in boys soccer.
Soriano scored 27 goals in leading Carpinteria to the CIF Division 5 finals.
Daniel Torres, who guided the Warriors to the TVL title in only his third year at the helm, was honored as the league’s coach of the year.
Carpinteria went 10-2-0 in the tough league. The Warriors had one stretch where they played six straight matches on the road.
Four Warriors were named to the All-TVL first team. They are senior defender Manuel Salinas, senior forward Oscar Montes, freshman midfielder Johnny Requejo and junior midfielder Mohammed Mehai.
Sophomore defenders Genaro Hurtado and Luis Cisneros and junior midfielder Edwin Elizarraras were second-team selections, and senior goalkeeper Erik Roya and senior defender Alfredo Maya were named honorable mention.
Fillmore’s Javier Valdivinos was selected the league’s Defensive MVP.
