Freshman Joey Mazziotta overcome a bad start and shot an 82, helping San Marcos to a 408-415 Channel Legue golf win over Buena on Tuesday at Sandpiper Golf Course.
It was the Royals’ (1-2) first league win. Buena is 0-2.
“I was very proud of how he kept himself together for the entire round,” said San Marcos coach David Siordia of Mazziotta.
Thayer White was the match medalist with a 1-under 73.
