Haddow’s hitting earns him Big West Player-of-Week honor

Senior Mark Haddow had a superb week for the UCSB baseball team, driving in six runs in a pair of wins, earning him the Big West Player of the Week award the conference announced on Monday.

Haddow, who hails from San Diego, went 6-for-16 in four games this week with two doubles and a home run, driving in six runs and scoring five more runs.

The Gaucho right fielder tied his career-high with four RBIs during UCSB’s 5-2 win at USC on Tuesday, then drove in two more in Sunday’s 8-3 victory at No. 23 Oregon State. In both of the Gauchos’ wins, Haddow drove in the game-winning runs.

For the week, Haddow had hits in all four of Santa Barbara’s games and had an on-base percentage of .444 and had a robust .686 slugging percentage for the week.

This season, Haddow is batting .324 this season with a .420 on-base percentage. He leads the team in runs scored, stolen bases and triples.
