Grimes and Mathis look good in Bishop Diego loss

Both Matt Grimes and Mick Mathis stepped up big for Bishop Diego on Thursday, though it wasn’t enough to come away with the win as the Cardinals fell to Orcutt Academy 11-7 in a non-league tennis match.

Grimes and Mathis both swept their singles sets.

“Mathis and Grimes are really doing great in singles,” said head coach Ray Vazquez. “They dominated today.”

Nick Lensander finished off singles going 1-2 for the day.

Cardinals struggled in doubles, with each team getting swept by Orcutt Academy.

The next game for Bishop Diego is at Malibu on April 4th.
