Double wins by Dunlap, Drain pace Carpinteria girls

Shelby Dunlap won two individual events and ran on a winning relay team to help Carpinteria edge Nordhoff 48-46 in the girls competition at the Maricopa Relays in Ojai. Fillmore was third.

Dunlap won the high jump with a season-best 5 feet and captured the 300 hurdles in 48.86. She was on the 4×200 relay team that won in 1:53.62. Other team members were Kelsey Drain, Lacey Bushey and Amelia Ribbens.

Drain equaled her PR in the pole vault with a mark of  8 feet and took the 100 hurdles in 19:50.

Natalie Hipple was a double winner in the long jump (14-10.5) and the triple jump (31-11.5), and Bushey won the 100 in 13.66.

The Carpinteria boys finished third behind Nordhoff and Fillmore

David Cornejo won the long jump at 19-5 and finished second in his first 300m hurdle race (43.76). Alex Rodriguez won the pole vault with a clearance of 9-6.
