Chargers belt 3 homers, romp in Arizona tourney opener

Dos Pueblos continued its hot play in Tucson, Ariz., Wednesday, pounding three home runs in a 9-2 baseball win over Pomona of Arvada, Colo. in an opening-round game at the Chris Moon Memorial Tournament.

It was the sixth straight win for the Chargers.

Johnny Corazza got the enslaught going for DP with a two-run homer in the second inning. Kyle Richardson blasted a solo shot in the third and Joe Huthsing belted a two-run homer in the fifth, as the Chargers built a 6-0 lead.

Corazza added a triple and Richardon hit a double. Steven Reveles went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored, and Michael Spiritosanto tripled, doubled and drove in two runs.

Sophomore Gabe Speier pitched four innings to pick up his third win of the year. Luke Loggins finished the game with three innings of solid relief.

The Chargers (6-2) play Flowing Wells and host Tucson High today.
