Cate School fell to 0-3 on the boys tennis season with an 11-7 loss to Arroyo Grande in a non-league matchup Tuesday. All three losses have come against bigger schools.
Cate’s singles looked solid, led by Blake Mackall who went 2-1 for the day, while Chris Lin and Austin Lokrie both went 1-2. Grogory Mak and Ahmed Bou-Radee led the way for Cate’s doubles, going 2-1 against a strong Arroyo Grande doubles line-up. Jason Park and Brant Redmond went 1-2, while Thys Nortup and Micheal Revord were swept 0-3.
“Arroyo Grande’s doubles have great balance,” said Cate coach Bob Bonning. “We have a strong singles line-up, though we just fell short in doubles.”
Cate’s next match is against Thacher in its Condor League opener.
