Bishop Diego wins enough games to beat Carpinteria

Sean Stratford-Jones went 3-0 in singles and the doubles team of Mick Mathis-Matt Grimes also won all of their sets, helping Bishop Diego’s tennis team beat Carpinteria 79-68 on games after the teams played to a 9-9 in sets.

It was the first win of the season for the Cardinals (1-4).

Bishop coach Ray Vasquez praised the play of freshman Matt Hammond and Sergio Rodriguez, who won 10 key games for the Cardinals.
