Warriors improve shooting touch, beat Grace Brethren

Carpinteria’s boys basketball team has been working hard to improve on its shooting.

The practice paid off on Friday night in a 46-31 victory over Grace Brethren in a Tri-Valley League game.

“We played very good offensively,” coach Johnny Ward said. “Our shot selection was good. We shot the ball better than we have. We’ve worked harder on shooting drills in practice and it’s paying off.”

Trevor Madden scored 11 points and Eric Trujillo added nine for the Warriors (10-6, 1-1).

“We came out and played well. We played well as a unit,” said Ward.

Carpinteria has a makeup game on Monday at home against Santa Paula.
