Santa Barbara tuned up for its Tournament of Champions by beating Mater Dei 11-6 in a non-league girls water polo game on Thursday.
The Dons roared to a 5-0 lead and cruised to the victory. Makenzy Fowler scored three goals and had three steals and Betsy Hendrix tossed in three goals on three shots.
Charlotte Hendrix played a solid all-around game, posting four assists, three steals and drawing three of the team’s for ejections.
Santa Barbara held Mater Dei to two goals on their seven man-up situations.
The Dons (9-4) open Friday’s tournament against San Diego Section Division 1 champion Vista at 3:30 p.m.
