Cardinals go cold in second half at Fillmore

Bishop Diego struggled with its shooting in the second half and dropped a 46-40 girls basketball decision at Fillmore on Tuesday night.

“We didn’t shoot well. We missed 12 easy shots in the fourth quarter,” said Bishop assistant coach Andrea Garcia. “We just couldn’t find the basket.”

Kelsey Stimson scored 12 points and Courtney Houston added 11, but the Cardinals couldn’t hold a five-point halftime lead. They were outscored 11-4 in the third quarter and 14-10 in the fourth.

“We had opportunities,” Garcia said. “It just wasn’t our best shooting day.”

Bishop falls to 9-9 and 0-4 in the Tri-Valley League.
