Bad fourth quarter costs Bishop Diego

Bishop Diego was outscored 23-9 in the fourth quarter and suffered a 63-51 Frontier League boys basketball defeat at Santa Paula on Friday night.

The Cardinals were ahead by two points going into the final stanza.

“We gave up a lot of second chances and they had three 3s,” Bishop coach Dean Prophet said. “We had a lot of turnovers. We didn’t execute our offense very well.”

Noah Tack led Bishop with 19 points and Ben Kwock added 10 points. Elias Munoz, the team’s leading scorer, managed only eight points.

“He wasn’t hitting his shots tonight,” Prophet said. “Noah kept us in the game.”

Bishop (2-1, 11-7) plays host to Carpinteria on Wednesday night.
