Midland knocked down nine 3-pointers and beat Cate 53-47 in the season and Condor League boys basketball opener Wednesday in Los Olivos.
“We weren’t ready for our opener,” said Cate coach Bryan Rodriguez. “We just got our football players on Monday and we came out sluggish.”
Wesley Greason scored 16 points and Spencer Shapiro had 13 for the Rams.
