Royals split on final day in Fresno

The Royals are coming home.

San Marcos’ boys soccer team finished its week in Fresno on Saturday, having played eight road games in six days to start the season. The Royals wrapped up the Fresno-Clovis Tournament by splitting a pair of decisions with Westwood and Madera High.

Nahum Sanchez’s goal against Westwood stood up for a 1-0 Royals win before San Marcos was stopped by Madera, 3-2.

Ricky Lopez and Cody Howen scored for the Royals in the second game.

San Marcos is anxious for its first home game in Santa Barbara, to be played on Tuesday versus Fillmore.
