Madden makes, doesn’t break Warriors

Trevor Madden did it all for Carpinteria on Saturday night, leading the Warriors to a 41-35 victory over Channel Islands.

Madden scored 15 points and tallied eight steals, two blocks, three assists, two rebounds and a drawn-charge.

“He stepped up and took a more assertive leadership role which was good to see,” said Warriors coach Johnny Ward.

Carpinteria needed it, as they squandered a 23-13 lead and allowed the Raiders to pull within three by the end of the third quarter.

The Warriors (6-1) face Cabrillo in their final pool-play matchup on Monday at 7:30 p.m. (Tournament Schedule/Results).
