Dons prepare for 3 games in less than 2 days at Righetti

Santa Barbara prepared for a girls basketball marathon at the Righetti Tournament on Monday with a 58-45 victory over Lompoc.

The Dons opened up a 14-0 lead and led 25-9 at the end of the first quarter.

The big lead allowed coach Andrew Butcher to play every player in every quarter, which figures to be valuable for the Dons for the next two days.

They’ll play three games in 17 hours, starting with a 4 p.m. game against Santa Ynez. At 7, they’ll take the court again and face host Righetti.

They’ll complete pool play with a 9 a.m. game against El Camino on Wednesday.

Against Lompoc, Tess Emerson scored 12 points to lead a balanced offense. Freshman Desiree Coleman tossed in 11 points, Riley Lloyd and Ivette each had 10 and freshman Alyssa Cosio added six.
