An eight-game win streak has seen Cate’s 8-man football team rise up the CIF rankings this season all the way to No. 2, which is the seed the Rams received for the 2010 postseason on Monday.
Condor League champion Cate (8-0) will host Pacific Lutheran on Saturday in a 1:30 p.m. clash in Carpinteria. Lutheran is an at-large team from the Coastal League.
Laguna Blanca received an at-large bid after finishing the regular season as the Condor League’s third-place team with a 5-3 record. The Owls will travel to Express League champion Capistrano Valley Christian. The two schools will meet on Friday at San Clemente High School at 7 p.m.
Faith Baptist is the No. 1 team in Division I.
