New players contribute in Royals’ win over Buena

Alexis Flores and Leanne Sturman went 2-0 in their varsity debut, while Kimmie Pepitone and Ally Walters swept their doubles sets 6-3, 6-0, 6-0 to pace San Marcos to an 18-0 win over Buena in a Channel League girls tennis match on Thursday.

“Alexis and Leanne moved well together on the court and did a great job hitting their returns deep crosscourt,” San Marcos coach Jarrod Bradley said. “Ally and Kimmie were very aggressive at the net, finishing easy points with an exclamation.”

Jenna Levine and Dana Zylstra registered their first sweeps on the varsity.

The Royals (11-4, 5-2 ) play Arroyo Grande in a non-league match Monday at the John Stoney Courts.
