Dos Pueblos’ defending CIF Champion girls volleyball team moved up to its highest CIF ranking of the season on Monday, finding itself at No. 7 in Division I-AA.
The Chargers moved up two spots after a week in which they defeated crosstown rival Santa Barbara for the second time this season. They also beat No. 9 Thousand Oaks before falling to No. 1 Harvard-Westlake on Saturday.
Laguna Blanca’s girls team, aiming to reach a CIF championship match for the fifth time in six years, remains in the No. 2 position in Div. IV-AA.
The Channel League lost ground as a unit in the latest boys water polo poll. Santa Barbara High and Dos Pueblos both dropped out of the Division I rankings while league-leading Dos Pueblos fell one spot to No. 7.
Cate’s 8-man football team jumped Santa Clarita Christian to claim the No. 3 ranking in Division I. Laguna Blanca, which suffered a 47-13 defeat to the Rams, dropped one spot to No. 10.
Both of the area’s top tennis teams stayed where they were. Santa Barbara High’s Dons are the No. 3 team in Div. II while Cate is the No. 4 team in Div. IV.
