Carpinteria falls in five against Santa Clara

Carpinteria found its rhythm after losing the first two sets against Santa Clara, but the Warriors couldn’t maintain it and lost the Frontier League girls volleyball match in five. The scores were 16-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 10-15.

“We eliminated a bunch of errors,” Carpinteria coach Katie Dolge said of sets two and three. “Erin (Callaway) was serving tough for us. We played better in those two games. In Game 5, the other team got a little run of points. Unfortunately, we couldn’t come back from that.”

Callaway led the Warriors (0-7, 0-1) with eight kills and five aces. Middle Maddie Brooks added seven kills and Shelby Dunlap led the defense with 24 digs.
