Providence Hall shows improvement in 2nd match

After a slow start, Providence Hall stepped up its play and pushed Santa Maria Valley Christian in the third game before falling in the non-league girls volleyball match on Tuesday.

The game scores were 25-10, 25-9, 25-22.

“It showed that we’re a young team,” assistant coach Laura Trudelle said. “In the third game we looked a lot better, we were playing more aggressively. We were tied at 21-21.

“It was encouraging at the end.”

Trudelle cited the serving of Olivia Barroca in the third game and the serving and scrappy defense of Hannah Park.

This was Providence Hall’s second CIF match. The Lions, 1-1, are back in action Saturday against Midland School at Westmont College.
