Carpinteria keeps its poise against Oaks Christian

Carpinteria ran into an experienced Oaks Christian team and lost the Tri-Valley League golf opener, 248-302, on Thursday at Camarillo Springs Golf Club.

“Our girls performed very well and hit many good shots,” said Carpinteria coach Chris Gahan. “Several girls improved their personal scores. As a team they all remained very poised, played at a good pace and had great attitudes. I am really encouraged for them to keep improving this season.”

Lauren Taira posed the low score for the Warriors (1-1) with a 53.
