It will be a battle of two CIF-ranked football teams when Santa Ynez and Bishop Diego clash in the season-opener for both teams Friday night at SBCC’s La Playa Stadium.
Kickof is at 7:30 p.m. on the newly installed turf field.
Santa Ynez is No. 3 in the Northwest Division poll while Bishop is rated ninth in the East Valley Division.
Santa Barbara, which snapped a 12-game losing streak with a 17-0 shutout over Channel Islands in its Week 0 game last Friday, was listed among others in the Western Division rankings. Also listed is the Dons’ opponent this Friday, Beverly Hills.
