Gordon McClenathen is still on the run.
The former Dos Pueblos High coach won the 2,000-meter steeplechase and 1500-meter run in the 75-79 age group at the recent USA Track and Field Masters Western Regionals at Orange Coast College.
The victories qualify McClenathen, a UCSB Hall of Famer, for this week’s Masters National Championships in Sacramento.
McClenathen ran 11:43.55 in the steeplechase and clocked 7:27.09 in the 1500.
Also qualifying was Wanda Toro of Lompoc in the 45-49 women’s 800, 1500 and 10,000 meters.
