Lunn, Binder, Sutton take Nite Moves events

Kevin Lunn, a former Laguna Blanca running star and the 2009 Santa Barbara County champion in the 1600, won the 5-kilometer run at Nite Moves No. 12 Wednesday night.

Lunn, 19, hit the finish line at Leadbetter Beach in 16 minutes, 3 seconds. Sebastian Hoenig of Santa Barbara came in second in 16:16 and current Dos Pueblos High runner Bryan Fernandez took third in 17:04. The top women’s finisher was Cassandra Henkiel (5th overall) in 18:25.

[nggallery id=40]In the 1-k swim, former San Marcos star and Auburn University All-American Adrienne Binder took first place in 14:26.

Brian Roth, the swim coach at San Marcos, was third in 14:35, three seconds behind Jim West, and 15-year-old Nicolas Lum of Santa Barbara was fourth in 14:53.

COMPLETE RESULTS

There was a special women’s swim category, which was won by Binder. Samantha Jett of Santa Barbara placed second in 16:34 and local Karen Schultz finished third in 16:43.

Warren Sutton, a triathlete from Malibu, captured the swim-run aquathon in 38:05. Norbert Hoehne of Camarillo was second in 38:22 and local Ben Leinfelder third in 38:56. Binder was the top woman in 41:30.
