Henno makes S.B. Junior Golf history

Kristin Henno shot the lowest score of the day to become the first girl to earn overall medalist honors in a Santa Barbara Junior Golf Tour event on Monday.

Henno shot a 6-over par 78 at La Cumbre Country to win the girls division and the overall tournament title. Her score tied the tour record for girls.

Carson Curtis, Nick DeHeras and Brett Patton shared first place in the boys 16-over division. Playing from the blue tees, they shot 10-over 81.

Tanner Guerra and Kivan Mashboon each shot 86 to  tie for top honors in the 14-15 group.

Playing from the white tees, Michael Nam shot 95 to take the 12-13 division, while Matthew Pate won the par-36, 9-hole 10-11 group with a 49.

The next tournament is Monday, Aug. 2 at Birnam Wood Golf Club.
