DP capitalizes on Foothill pitching woes

Dos Pueblos took advantage of some wild pitching by Ventura-Foothill and romped to a 10-1 victory in the District 63 Little League 9-10 Division All-Star Tournament on Wednesday.

Dos Pueblos scored twice in the first inning with the help of a hit batter and three walks. Will Yamasaki, who was hit by the first pitch of the game, scored on a passed ball and Will Goodwin came home on a walk with the bases loaded.

Foothill got a run back in the bottom of the first, but DP answered in the second on RBI triple to right centerfield by Davey Demeter.

DP scored two more in the third. Thomas Jimenez reached first on a Foothill error, Nicolas Baker walked and Dylan Kelley tomahawked a ball down the left field line to score Jimenez. When the ball got away from the Foothill team on the relay, Baker scampered home for a 5-1 lead.

DP also scored two runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth.

Isaac Coffey, Nicholas Baker, Will Yamasaki and Dylan Kelley limited the Foothill team to three hits.

Dos Pueblos plays its next game on Friday at Girsh Park against Santa Paula.
