Santa Barbara is well represented on the USA Volleyball Beach Junior National Team.
A total of five players from the community were chosen for the USAV Beach Under-21 select camp. Those players are Dillan Bennett, Pete Aronchick, Jordon Dyer, Will Montgomery and Chris Pratt.
After training for two months in Manhattan Beach, the coaching staff will select four players to represent the U.S. at the FIVB Junior World Championships in Alanya, Turkey, Sept. 16-19. Dyer and Montgomery played in Europe last year.
On the girls side, local players Sammie Brown and Eve Ettinger are in the U-19 select camp, vying to be one of the final four players picked to travel to Portugal for the FIVB Youth U19 World Championships, July 28-Aug. 1.
