The 12-and-under Thunder All-Stars from the Goleta Valley Girls Softball Association took first place at this weekend’s Five Cities Softball Tournament.
The team went undefeated on Saturday and Sunday to take the 12U division championship, beating Santa Maria in the final 8-0. Goleta outscored their opponents 42-1 in five games over the weekend. Sharing the pitching duties in the five games was Lani Evans, Maddy Bui, and Ady Willett.
Goleta will next play June 24-26 in the National Qualifier at Santa Maria. They will be looking to qualify for the Western National 12U “B” Tournament to be held in Las Cruces, New Mexico in August.
