All-CIF teams unveiled for baseball, softball, volleyball

All-CIF teams were released on Monday for baseball, softball and boys volleyball, and a handful of local prep athletes were honored with All-CIF distinctions.

Channel League MVP Trey Barrett was placed on the Division-II Second Team for baseball. The Dons won a league title and advanced to the postseason’s quarterfinals behind a powerful offense led by their slugging first baseman.

For softball, Dos Pueblos sophomore Hannah Harris is Second Team All-CIF in Division IV. Harris is the Chargers’ ace while also acting as a dangerous threat at the plate.

Another Charger, Will McCracken, is a Third-Team selection in boys volleyball’s top division. McCracken, who will be playing at Missouri Valley State next year, was Dos Pueblos’ kill leader during a Channel League-championship-season.

Three Cate athletes found their names included. Jackson Mauze is a member of Division VII’s First Team for baseball while teammate George Luo made the second team. Volleyball player Joe Gottwald was included on Division V’s second team for carrying the Rams to a co-Condor League title.

All-CIF selections for swimming, track & field, boys tennis, and boys golf have already been determined.
