Santa Barbara High and Dos Pueblos were awarded first-round home games when the CIF boys volleyball playoff brackets were released on Sunday. The Dons host their match on Tuesday at 7 p.m. while the Chargers game begins at 6 p.m.
Dos Pueblos and Santa Barbara are in opposite sides of the Division I bracket, with Channel League No. 3 San Marcos joining the Dons in the upper half.
The Chargers (18-8), the Channel League’s No. 1, drew Harvard-Westlake in Tuesday’s first round. A victory would force DP to matchup with powerful Corona del Mar in the second round. The Royals are in a similar situation, knowing that a first-round victory would likely mean a second-round clash with No. 1 Mira Costa.
The Dons (15-4) draw Long Beach Wilson in the first round, the No. 2 team from the Moore League. San Marcos will travel to Crespi, the No. 2 team from the Mission League.
Condor League No. 1 Cate was given an opening-round playoff matchup with Chadwick while co-Condor League champion Laguna Blanca will be hitting the road to face Vistamar. Cate’s home match starts at 5 p.m.
