The second round of the Division IV playoffs didn’t pose much of a challenge for the Cate boys tennis team on Friday, as the Rams defeated the Gahr Gladiators 18-0.
Blake Mackall didn’t lose a game in any of his three sets, and Austin Lokre swept 6-0, 6-0, 6-2. Ahmed Bou Rabee and Jason Park won three tough sets in doubles at the No. 2 spot.
The Rams (13-5) won the CIF title three years ago, and coach Bob Bonning said this year, of course, they are taking it one match at a time.
“There are a lot of very good teams in this draw,” he said.
