No. 4 Dons topple No. 3 Palos Verdes with ease

The doubles team of Jim Vaughan and Chris Williams went 3-0 in sets and only lost two games all day as the No. 4 Santa Barbara High boys tennis team got off a long bus ride and beat third-ranked host Palos Verdes 12-6 on Friday.

“This is a big upset considering they beat us on March 20th,” noted coach Steve Geremia. “Our doubles players really felt that they needed to send a message early and we went 6-1, 6-3, 6-0 in the first round of dubs. That was big, because Palos Verdes is a potential CIF opponent.”

Santa Barbara (9-1) plays Buena on Tuesday.
