Cards drop close call to Wildcats, 75-69 on games

Bishop Diego has come closer and closer every time its played Villanova this boys tennis season, and Wednesday’s third matchup was about as close as it comes. The Cardinals and Wildcats each won nine sets, but host Villanova won 75-69 on games.

Bishop (3-3) will finish second in the Frontier League, guaranteeing a playoff spot, while Villanova is undefeated in conference play at 6-0.

Eduardo Colosante’s 2-1 performance was particularly impressive to coach Ray “Slash” Vazquez, as was the undefeated day in doubles by Matthew Grimes and Charlie Taylor.
