Carpinteria’s Caitlin Wallace was so good this season she was named co-MVP of the Frontier League despite the Warriors’ third-place finish.
Whitney Shirley, from undefeated league champion Santa Clara, shares the award with Wallace. Saints head coach Ruben Marin was named Coach of the Year.
Second-place finisher Bishop Diego had two seniors on the first team in Janelle Kohler and Dalise Spence. Six Cardinals made the postseason lists. Joining Kohler and Spence were second-teamer Courtney Houston and honorable mentions Kelsey Stimson, Ariel Perez and Allison Breuer.
Wallace was one-half of a dynamic duo with first-team selection Amanda Burch. Two Warriors landed on the league’s second team, Sierra Freeman and Marina DeLeon, while Shelby Dunlap and Kelci Jones were recognized as honorable mentions.
