Keller can do it for Vaqueros in comeback win

Steven Keller scored the tying run in the ninth and drove in the go-ahead run in the 12th on Thursday as SBCC rallied for a wild 15-12 baseball win in 12 innings at L.A. Mission.

The teams combined for 27 runs, 39 hits and 10 errors in a four-hour nonconference marathon at Sylmar.

In the 12th, Danny Cavaletto and Tommy White led off with singles and Conner Rehage was intentionally walked to load the bases. Keller made it 13-12 with a sacrifice fly and White and Rehage both scored on a wild pitch. When White made a hard slide to the plate, the ball caromed toward the first-base dugout and Rehage scored from second, boosting the lead to 15-12.

White, Rehage, Sam Johnston and Taylor Lyons all had three hits for the Vaqueros (7-6).

Kylin Turnbull (1-2) entered in the ninth inning and earned his first college win by holding Mission to two hits in the final 3 2/3 innings with five strikeouts and a walk.

Zach Pecyna provided a spark off the bench, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs. He hit his first homer — a three-run shot — to highlight a seven-run sixth that put the visitors ahead 9-5.
