Dos Pueblos’ girls soccer season ended at San Clemente on Friday as the Chargers fell 2-1 in the first round of the CIF Division-I playoffs to the two-time defending champions.
San Clemente built a 2-0 lead at halftime but DP’s Maria Solis was able to close the gap in the 51st minute with a goal off an assist from Rachel Smith. Chargers keeper Meagan Bellefeuille kept DP in the game with 10 second-half saves.
Tessa Andujar and Alex Gerain scored for the No. 1-seeded Tritons, who move on to face Royal in the second round.
The Chargers finish with an 11-9-6 record after placing third in the Channel League and defeating Buena for the first time in school history.
