Condor’s undefeated Cate taxes Toads

Cate’s boys soccer team remained undefeated after a 2-0 Condor League victory over Thacher on Wednesday.

Thacher got the strong start, pinning the Rams in their half for the first ten minutes of play. The Rams quickly turned the game around to their favor as Johnny Woolf scored off a rebound of his own shot. Ema Boateng found Woolf with a through pass that put Woolf in a 1-on-1 situation with Thacher’s keeper.

Boateng created Cate’s second goal twenty minutes later, giving the Rams a 2-0 halftime lead. Boateng’s free kick connected with Jackson Mauze, who headed it in for the score.

Cate’s sophomore keeper Grant Redmond made two stellar saves to keep the cleansheet.

The Rams, which host Laguna Blanca on Friday, hold an overall record of 8-1-2 and a Condor League record of 3-0-2.
