Three freshmen from the Santa Barbara girls water polo team provided a bulk of the offense for the Dons on Tuesday, playing a large role in a 15-2 Channel League victory over Buena.
Sophie Trabucco and Kelsey O’Brien recorded a team-high with three goals each and Rocio Fesembeck tallied two more as her first varsity scores. The trio accounted for 8 of Santa Barbara’s 15 goals. In all, nine different Dons scored on Tuesday.
“We did a nice job of spreading out the scoring,” said head coach Mark Walsh.
Trabucco added six steals and three assists to the stat sheet while O’Brien collected four saves. As a team, the Dons posted 23 steals in the game.
Santa Barbara, ranked No. 6 in Div. I, improves to 12-7 on the year and 4-1 in Channel League. Up next is undefeated Dos Pueblos on Tuesday.
