San Marcos, Dos Pueblos soccer quickly make up for lost time

Dos Pueblos and San Marcos are turning Saturday into a soccer extravaganza at SBCC’s La Playa Stadium, as all levels of their soccer programs clash on the turf field on a day with the first dry forecast in a week.

The boys frosh-soph teams start it off early with a kickoff of 8:30 a.m. The varsity boys start at 2:30 p.m. while the girls varsity game is the main event at 4 p.m. These games were originally scheduled on Tuesday.

Just about every prep soccer and water polo game was postponed this week because of the excessive rainfall with some already rescheduled and some not.

The DP boys are the Channel League’s second-place team behind Santa Barbara while the Royals are looking to get their first points.

The Charger girls are 1-1-1 in league so far, while the Royals are 0-2-1. A win for San Marcos would pull the Royals even with DP halfway through their league schedules.

Friday’s Tri-Valley League boys soccer game between Carpinteria and Santa Paula won’t be played as planned, but Monday’s clash with Oaks Christian will at Carpinteria Valley Memorial Stadium.

Bishop Diego’s girls soccer team is going to travel to Santa Clara on Monday afternoon to make up a Frontier League game missed on Wednesday.

Santa Barbara’s girls water polo team pushed its home game against Ventura back to February 10, which would make it the Dons’ second-to-last Channel League game.
