Seven Vaquero women named all-WSC

Meghan Maiwald has been named to the first-team All-WSC North women’s soccer squad for the second straight year. The sophomore from San Jose had the No. 2 goals-against average in the state (0.35) with 11 shutouts. She owns school records for shutouts in a season (13, 2008) and career (24).
Maiwald was joined on the first team by teammates Kelly Deckers and defender Alyson Johnson. Deckers, a freshman from Valencia, was second among WSC scorers with 17 goals and eght assists.

Courtney Belsheim and Jamie Kucharski made the second team while sophomores Casey Rubin and Lindsey Snow were honorable mention.

The Vaqueros (10-4-6) went 5-3-2 and finished third in the WSC North, missing a playoff berth by five-thousandths of a point.
