Oak Park takes playoff spot from Cardinals

Kyle Holland found Julian Cassano for a late 15-yard Bishop Diego touchdown, but Oak Park already new it was playoff bound in a 35-10 Tri-Valley League contest.

Holland completed 8-of-14 passes with the touchdown pass and without an interception.

Oak Park limited the Cardinals (1-9) to 144 yards total offense while the Eagles totaled 328, gaining 227 yards on the ground alone.

Paul Garcia picked up Bishop Diego’s largest gain of the night, a 45-yard scamper on a fake punt.

“Our guys never quit, and that’s the one thing we have been most pleased with all season,” said Cardinals head coach Tom Crawford.

“I’m very excited for the kids we have coming back for next season, but these seniors gave us everything they had all year.  Very proud of them, ” added Crawford.
