Cougars conquer Royals, 20-4

Ventura proved to be a tough cookie to crumble for the San Marcos boys water polo team on Tuesday, instead breaking off a 20-4 Channel League win over the Royals.

The No. 6 team in Div. I scored six goals in each of the first two quarters to quickly impose its dominance.

Travis Frolich found the back of Ventura’s cage twice, and Travis Johnson and Andre Rivera added a goal apiece. Johnson also played a quarter in goal, collecting three saves.

San Marcos falls to 10-14, 0-4 in league and travels crosstown to Santa Barbara on Thursday.
