Top-ranked Dons dominate Marlborough 16-2

The top-ranked girls tennis team in Division II didn’t have much trouble on Wednesday, as the Santa Barbara Dons disposed of visiting Marlborough 16-2. Twenty Dons saw action in the match, giving coach Steve Geremia a great opportunity to see his younger players in action.

Transfer Grace Flintermann made her home debut for the Dons and went 2-0 and Taryn Mjelde won 6-0 in her set win at the No. 3 singles spot. Geremia was also impressed with Savannah Fox and Emily Baum, who bounced back from a 4-1 deficit to win their doubles set 7-5. Freshman Kaitlyn Rodnick also won her singles set 6-0.

The Dons, who have seven all-Channel League players returning from last year, play at Mira Costa on Thursday.
