Royals’ doubles doing the dominating

The San Marcos girls tennis team hasn’t lost a doubles set in three matches and has three straight wins to show for it after a 14-4 defeat of Cate on Wednesday.

Christine Pearson and Amy Ransohoff have won nine sets over that stretch that includes wins over Santa Ynez and Buena.

San Marcos improves to 5-3 with the non-league win while Cate falls to 1-3.

Cate’s Marguerite Mannix gave the Royals trouble, sweeping her three sets. Madison Snider captured the Rams’ other set.

The Amy Kinsella/Shelby Zylstra and Liz Morris/Parisa Fallahi tandems also swept three sets for San Marcos, which travels to Dos Pueblos on Thursday for a Channel League match.
